Changing Direction
Have you ever been caught in a downward spiral? Does it seem like nothing’s going right? It usually starts with the belief that you are not good at something or that you never get a break. Then, to top it off, it seems like the results you want aren’t just happening. People who are consistently unhappy are that way because they’ve been without the results they want for so long that they just give up and quit living this precious life. We have to quit dwelling on the negative and start thinking about the successes and what you’ve done well. What has worked out for me? Begin to see and believe that “you can”, instead of finding reasons why “you can’t”. How we think of ourselves determines how well we do in life. When I coached my children, the one thing I had them always repeat was “I can.” Why? Because one you believe it, the world and the way you view it will change drastically as you live it.
Just a thought, God bless.

A Return to Morality
Where there is no vision on how to live, and how we’re supposed to act, the people perish, run wild and live in a society where anything goes. It’s sad that our society as a whole doesn’t know how to live.
When there’s no right or wrong, we run wild. It’s like this because, for most people, they’re not sure how they are supposed to live and act. That’s why things like re-distribution of wealth sounds good. When the Soviet Union went to this mind-set, it cost 100 million lives, and it failed miserably. It takes away the incentive to grow, develop and to be creative. It’s unhealthy for a culture to embrace such insanity.
We must make a return to morality. It is immoral for two men or two women to have sex with each other. It is immoral to lie, cheat and deceive your way to the top. It is immoral to abandon your responsibilities in life, i.e. your family and debts.
We have to come back to a belief of right and wrong, moral and immoral behavior. We need to begin to embrace lifestyles that God and His Word speak of and truly believe that God’s word is not only relevant for today, but is truth and worth believing and acting on. He alone gives us vision for how we are supposed to live. His Word alone keeps our society free and healthy, but only when we act on it.
Just a thought, God bless.

Live the Truth
As Christians, knowing the truth should be very important to us. The Bible is the infallible Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and truth is what helps all of us to live better, be better and do better. Let’s truly give our hearts to the Lord Jesus and put Him first in every area of our lives. To the world, let’s tell them that God is real and we believe his Word so much, that we purpose to live it everyday with His help. One reason more people don’t come to God is because too many people profess to be Christians and don’t live it.
Have you ever wondered why some are so turned off to God? When you talk to them, they’ll say, “I knew this person claimed to be a Christian,” and did something or said something that turned them off. What we may not realize is that when you tell someone you’re a Christian, it naturally inspires hope in him or her. This is why when we live contrary to what God’s Word says, they get mad, hurt or very angry. So go out this week and inspire hope in a lost world by actually living like you believe God is real. Live the truth.
Just a thought, God bless.

Esteeming God’s Kingdom
James 1:27 talks about our responsibility as children of God, and what worship truly is. We are to go out and be the church: helping people and showing forth the glory of our Father in heaven. That means we explain to people why we do what we do. We share Jesus with them. God goes on to say that we should not be polluted or contaminated with worldly values.
The world has made it very unpopular to feed the homeless and then share Jesus with them. The gospel of our Lord Jesus is the only way people can become born again and have a relationship with God. But somehow, this kind of thinking is “wrong.” Why? Because we have been polluted with the world’s values and belief systems. We esteem Government programs and somehow, if you don’t, you aren’t compassionate. But true believers know that it is the church that is supposed to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless and visit the sick.
When our government (or any other for that matter) usurps that authority, you can bet that economy will go bad or bankrupt. The church needs to take back its’ role and do what God Himself had appointed it to do. We need to return to a place of esteem in the nation: a place where we are once again, proud to share our faith with others. That Jesus is Lord and that He is the only Way, Truth and the Life and no one gets to the Father except through Him. How do we do this? By believing enough in it to give and to serve. We should esteem God’s kingdom above all else.
Just a thought, God bless.

Strife
Strife has the potential to destroy everything in our lives. Strife is the act or state of fighting or quarreling. It is born of a strong, selfish desire to promote your own ideas and methods over everyone else’s. It kills relationships, annihilates companies, destroys marriages, devastates friendships and everything it touches. It’s one thing we must keep on guard for. That’s why so many of us aren’t getting ahead, because we have strife with someone else. The way to get ahead in life is to help others and see them do well.
If it’s all about me and how much I can get, then it begins to hurt others and us. This selfish thought has destroyed many men. We must protect our hearts and minds from becoming so full of strife. If we take every precaution to get rid of strife, our lives will be richer. It’s up to us whether or not strife is allowed to stay in our homes, businesses, with co-workers, and friendships. So let’s stay on top of them and learn to give and help others and to protect our lives from this desire to “do whatever it takes to be right.”
Just a thought, God bless.
