You must make a choice to do exactly what the bible says even though your circumstances and thoughts may seem otherwise. You must realize that if you have been hanging onto your worry it will be new for you to let God have your worry and you must practice this new behavior to create a new habit. It takes about 2-3 weeks to create a new habit. You must repeat the following scriptures over and over to yourself to help form this new habit. Say it this way: I am not anxious or worried for anything, but I am thankful to you God and I am asking you to help me with my situation; (be sure you name the situation);so that I can receive your peace which will guard my heart and my mind. I will think only on what is true, right, just, pure, lovely, good, and praise worthy. I will only think on those things and I am casting, with great force, my cares upon you Lord because you love me and have asked me to do so. (Philippians 4:6-8 & 1Peter 5:7). Now, you may have to pray this 100 times in one day for 2-3 weeks depending on how much you are struggling that day to form a new habit in your choice to turn over to God all your worries, but you can do it!
