At Legacy Academy, we offer a variety of competitive sports for our students to participate in.  Our coaching staff is a team of individuals who have experience in the sport they coach, and a love for our student athletes.  Our coaches use their sport to teach many life skills both on and off the field.  Legacy Academy is now a part of NMAA.  Download the NMAA Physical Form HERE

We encourage all students to participate in an athletic.  Students may sign up before the season begins and pricing varies depending on the sport.  Contact either school office at 831-0135 or our Athletic Director at eboll@legacychurchnm.com with questions.  We'd love to hear from you!

Student athletes in the 5th through 10th grades may join Volleyball.  Our Volleyball teams compete at the Middle School and JV level.  Our coaching staff has a passion for the game and loves developing our athletes into the best that they can be.  Interested athletes may join Volleyball at the beginning of the season.  You may contact coach Sandoval at bsandoval@legacyacademynm with questions.

Both boys and girls basketball are available to Legacy Academy students that want to join.  Our students train, play and compete, under the coaching of former Lobo's, Chris Perez and Jamal Fenton.  Boys and girls from the 5th grade through 10th grade may join basketball at the beginning of the season.  Legacy Academy is very excited about our newly renovated gymnasium including a brand new floor.  Feel free to contact Coach Perez at cperez@legacyacademynm.com with any questions!

Originally from Corona, California, Chris moved to New Mexico to attend the University of New Mexico.  He graduated with a bachelcors degree in University Studies.  He also played 4 years of basketball for the LOBOS, 3 of which ended in championshp victories in the Mountain West Tournament.  He is now in his 3rd year of teaching and coaching here at Legacy Academy and has recently married.  In his current role, he teaches Pre-Algebra (8th), Algebra 1 (9th), and Geometry (10th). He is also the Assistant Athletic Director, and has lead our basketball program to back-to-back-to-back ACAA championships with our mid-school boys basketball teams. This year, our Girls and Boys JV teams made championship game appearances, with both teams finishing up as ACSL Runner-Ups for the 2018 season. His favorite part about coaching is seeing these boys and girls grow and mature, not only on the court, but off the court as well. He is also very excited that Legacy Academy is now a part of NMAA!

Coach Sandoval is an Albuquerque native and attended both Cibola High School and Evangel Christian Academy.  She studied Elementary Education and Language Arts at the University of New Mexico.  She played Volleyball in high school and was awarded the 2015 NMAA Coach of the Year Award.  In the short time that she has been with Legacy Academy, she has led our teams to win 3 championship titles.  Coach Sandoval loves what she does as a coach because she can help develop an athlete, who has no knowledge of the game, into an athlete who performs and excels.
