LEGACY ACADEMY ATHLETICS

At Legacy Academy, we offer a variety of competitive sports for our students in which to participate. Our coaching staff is a team of individuals with experience in the sport they coach and a love for our student-athletes.  Our coaches use their sport to teach many life skills on and off the field.  Legacy Academy is a part of NMAA. Please see below for more information on the sports offered at Legacy Academy.

We encourage all students to participate in athletics. Students may sign up before the season begins, and pricing varies depending on the sport.

VOLLEYBALL

When a student-athlete joins the Legacy Academy Volleyball program, she can expect a phenomenal sporting experience, as she will be pushed in body and mind. Our “We Over Me” and “One Team, One Dream” mantras are at the core of who we are. We teach our young ladies to put others and their team before themselves, to work hard, and to always embody what it means to be a champion on and off the court.

Our coaching staff is ready and willing to work with student-athletes regardless of their level of development. Our volleyball program serves girls as young as 5th grade and currently operates five teams from middle school to varsity. We’ve recently won our first 7-1A District title and qualified for the NMAA State Volleyball Tournament for the first time. The future is bright for Legacy Academy Volleyball!

TRACK & FIELD

Track & Field at Legacy Academy is a high-intensity, high-reward program, not only focusing on the physical part of the sport but also the mental and character-building aspects. We train our track & field student- athletes to focus on character over reputation before anything else. When a student participates in this sport, he/she will experience an adherence to commitment, a healthy workout regimen, and lifelong lessons on discipline, respect, honor, and resiliency.

Athletes will be trained in every event they desire to compete in thoroughly and correctly working with our coaching and training staff. From field events to running events, with assurance student-athletes will have a season of tremendous growth just like many Silverback Student-Athletes have in the past. Our program has won back-to-back District 7-1A Championships and has produced some of the state's top athletes, with just over 25 state medals earned in our two-year history competing at the NMAA State Track & Field Championships.

FOOTBALL

Legacy Academy's football program centers around building up young men to succeed on the field, but more importantly, in life. POWERLIFTING

Powerlifting at Legacy Academy is a program that has one simple goal: Train to win. Our program has produced several state champions and state qualifiers. Not only is the focus on strength and lifting weights but character development and intentionality in the life of a student-athlete, especially in their walk with God.

The top three areas that are required of student-athletes in powerlifting are:

  1. Commitment
  2. Discipline
  3. Attitude

Program workouts will be taught with proper technique for strength, so as to avoid the risk of injury. The program given to each athlete will be tailored to their strength and individual needs. Students will grow in not just physical strength, but mental strength as well as they push themselves in both aspects with every workout.
